These boots came from California and are
covered with numbers! Five different numbers on each
boot. For the Fireman, there should be no question as to
these boots identity. It looks like the year ('73) is on the
boots, a longer number (01149) and a 3 digit number (473)
are probably truck or unit numbers. The size (11) is on the
toes. The number 31 probably represents the pair
number. In fact the left boot has the number 30. I am
guessing that this pair got mixed up sometime in their life.
All the other numbers are the same. |
